24 Hour Moab Trip

Everyone must visit Moab and Arches in their life time. My sister (sister-in-law) Amanda had never been so when she asked me to take her, I couldn't say no. We left Orem at three in the morning arriving in the Delicate Arch parking lot around 7 A.M..

It was a great hike, not too hot, not too crowded. It's exciting to see someone view Delicate for the first time and she loved it.

Following Delicate we did the Devil's Garden loop with the side visits. It got hot but we drank a lot and had no problems. Anther reason I love Moab and arches (particularly in the summer) is the variety of people you meet. We hiked with people from Paris, Switzerland, Germany, Tenessee, California, japan, etc. It was fun to meet so many different cultures and hear so many languages.

After briefly visiting the rest of the park it began to get hot (104) so we decided to hike professor creek. A approx. 10 mile hike in a stream to a waterfall that is much cooler. Animals were abundant and it was refreshing to relax in the water.

The trip ended with hitting the shops on Moab main street and then finishing with Corona Arch. We arrived home around 3 A.M.

Over all, we hiked about 25 miles, saw much of Moab and arches and arrived home at 3 A.M. 23 1/2 hours of fun!
